We understand speech-language services may be a new experience for some families, so we have complied a list of the most common questions we receive.
You can always call the office at 404-500-1253 or email at kklearss16@gmail.com if you have any additional questions.
If you are unsure or questioning if your child needs help, you can visit ASHA - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to read a detailed list of signs relating to speech-language services.
You can also review developmental norms released by the CDC to determine if your child may have any developmental delays.
Please visit our insurance page for more information. We also have other financial options if you do not have insurance.
Coverage depends on your chosen insurance plan. No two plans are the same, even when issued by the same insurance company.
Medicaid plans cover evaluation and treatment based on medical necessity.
If your insurance does not cover speech-language services, you may qualify for other financial options.
The length of time needed to achieve speech and language goals depends on many factors, including the severity of the disorder, diagnoses, intensity of intervention, and parent involvement. Therapy requires weekly appointments usually six months at a time. At the end of that period, depending on your insurance, a re-evaluation may be required to determine progress and justify the continuation of therapy.
You can visit our 'What's Needed' page for more information.
We provide services in clinic ONLY at our Hapeville location. At this time, we do not travel or offer in-home services.
No.
YES! Your child can attend school and still receive outside speech-language services. This also applies to ABA Therapy, if your child is NOT receiving speech services while in ABA, you can still seek outside speech services.
When a patient is scheduled for an appointment for therapy, we set aside the time and professional resources needed to meet the needs of that patient. When a patient fails to show up or cancel the appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice, professional skills that could be used to help other patients, go unused.
It is our policy that when a patient misses two consecutive appointments OR falls below 75% in recent attendance (for example if you are scheduled for therapy 1x a week and in one month you miss 3 sessions, this means you have missed 3 out of 4 weeks of therapy and therefore attendance has fallen below 75%)
In the event of missing appointments and attendance falling below 75% it is our policy to remove that patient from the schedule. That appointment time will be made available to the next patient on our waiting list.
Yes, however we will still need to complete our own evaluation so please be aware you will be responsible for paying the full cost of the evaluation if another speech provider has already billed your insurance and received payment.
The length of time families remain on the wait list depends on current clients and the waiting client’s flexibility. The more flexible your schedule, the easier scheduling will be once an appointment becomes available.
Because of this some families have been on our wait list as short as 1 month and others much longer.
If you would like to be added to our wait list please fill out the form here.
